About Jeromy

Hello.  My name is Jeromy Alexander.  I’m a twenty-nice year old guy from Jackson, Michigan USA.  I have a wife and two sons.  I own an internet solutions company in Jackson, Michigan.  I provide a complete range of services for my clients - I’m an end to end solution.

Domains, website builders, web hosting, web design, PHP and MySQL coding, ecommerce, virtual and dedicated web hosting servers, development servers, mail and database servers, local area file servers, all flavors of linux server administration, Windows domain server administration, onsite and remote end-user desktop support, SEO, legitimate email marketing, you name it, I can do a lot of it, for the rest I’ll help you find someone better suited for the task, or if you prefer I’ll learn fast and help you as best I can.

I’ve been interested in computers and (later) the Internet for as long as I can remember. I bought my first computer when I was fifeteen - a used 386sx 16.6 mhz, 4mb RAM, and a 40mb HDD for $400.00.  The previous owner had left a link in the main panel to the Horseman’s BBS.  In the process of exploring the computer I, of course, had to push ALL the buttons and connected to the BBS.  Over time, I met a lot of people there and started to learn about the online society, networking, coding (originally for ANSI and BBS software, later HTML), and eventually the Internet.

Keep in mind, back then I was on a Windows 3.1 computer, dialed up to local BBS on a 2400 baud modem and with ten other users, sharing a 28.8 dedicated  link to a Unix server.  When logged in, you were placed at a text-based bash shell prompt.  Once I asked a few people, I figured out how to use mutt and lynx - both text based programs for reading email and web browsing, respectively. Yes, the first webpage I ever saw was www.Yahoo.com.  And my first thought after connecting to the Internet and seeing a web page for the first time?

“WOW.. this is gonna be great!”

The leap made between BBS’s and the Internet really astounded me.  I was at the perfect point where I had just been exposed to BBS’s and was still at the “why doesn’t it work the way I think it should?” phase, and all the problems I was being taught to “deal with” and accept as the “way it was”; all seemed to disappear.  Shortly after, I bought my first true internet connection from Sojourn Systems, and discovered the high speed internet - 28.8 kbps for just me, no more sharing with the other BBS users!

It didn’t take long after seeing and falling in love with the high-speed graphical Internet, that I’d come to the simple conclusion: This thing, the Internet, would change the world.  This wasn’t a geeky ‘BBS’ that the average person didn’t even know existed.. this was different.  People, all people, would know and use this.  And at that moment I knew; I would be a part of building it.
